Reid I just received this unit and bought it based on my satisfaction with the Toshiba 37" Regza I bought a year ago. It replaces an old 13" in my bedroom so a 22" seems hugh. The various menues are the same as the Regza so it was very easy to figure out based on my previous experience. Contrary to the Amazon description, it has two HDMI inputs, not one. While the picture is really great in my view, I was very disappointed in the sound. Mamimum volume is just barely acceptable (I am a little hard of hearing) for listening and it sounds hollow and tinny. I got around this by hooking up a cheap book shelf stereo to my cable box to augment the sound and putting the speakers on both sides of the TV. There are no analog audio outputs on the TV so you need cable for this solution to work. Obviously, this solution would not be acceptable to everyone. 8 of 8 people found the following review helpful. I got what I expected, and I like it. By T. S. Ellingson We bought this TV to go in our small living room. We were debating between it and the Samsung 22". We decided to go with the Toshiba because of the better price and the smaller overall profile. The salesman at the store told us the biggest criticism with the TV was the sound, and he was right, it's not very good. I also thought the remote control was a little "busy" and the on-screen menu is not as intuitive as it could be. However, the picture is excellent. I watched TV from about 10' away and the picture was beautiful. I also like that it has such a small profile, it almost looks like a piece of art sitting on a table. Setup was very easy, I had it out of the box and working inside of two minutes. If your looking for a small, secondary TV for your bedroom or home office, this TV would work. If you're building a home entertainment center, this is not the TV for you. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. don't fear the sound By Pamela Herkes I was a bit apprehensive on what the sound quality would be like on this TV having read all the reviews. I can tell you that I have this in an 11 X 14 room with cathedral ceilings and I have absolutely NO issues with the sound quality! The picture quality is fabulous and the set up was so simple. I like this so much that I'm thinking of upgrading my living room TV to a larger version of this. Don't let the reviews on the sound quality hold you back from purchasing. And don't forget to go with the super saver free shipping. My delivery with this option was less than 48 hours from my confirmation!! See all 19 customer reviews...

BRAVIA Engine Full Digital Video Processor BRAVIA S-Series LCD televisions use Sony's BRAVIA Engine full digital video processor for crisp and clear images. Several special picture enhancement technologies are integrated into the processor to create better gradations with more detail, enhance contrast, and dynamically improve color performance. > Digital Noise Reduction Circuits: Reduces block noise and mosquito noise by using pixel-level filtering to reproduce a clean and clear picture. And Motion Vector Noise Reduction reduces just the noise in the video signal for video further reducing unwanted noise and blur artifacts. Digital Contrast Enhancer circuit: Improves contrast by enhancing all areas from dark to bright in parallel with texture control providing a three dimensional picture. > Color Reality signal processing enables the expression of all the colors of life in vivid detail for dark and bright scenes. Details in dark areas of the picture are there, just like they are supposed to be. Live Color Creation (featuring WCG-CCFL) Live Color Creation is a special Sony function that achieves precise, wide color reproduction using a combination of advanced chroma signal processing algorithms. A special wide color gamut backlight (WCG-CCFL) is coupled with Sony’s Live Color Creation circuitry. The benefit is clear blues, natural greens and overall vibrant colors in all scenes. Xross Media Bar (XMB) On-Screen Menu System Xross Media Bar is Sony’s Emmy Award2 winning on-screen navigation that provides quick access to various set up functions and features. For instance selecting different types of media is made fun and easy by scrolling horizontally across icons until you find the type of media you are looking for. After selecting the media type, a list of its content appears as vertical thumbnails. Key set up menus and features work the same way. The main benefit of the XMB is that users can navigate through on-screen menus without taking their eyes off of their TV. DMe Compatibility DMex compatibility allows the connection and operation of a whole new category of products that is being developed by Sony (sold separately). The first of these products is the optional BRAVIA Internet Video Link module. BRAVIA Theatre Sync BRAVIA Theatre Sync reduces the hassle and time consuming job of powering up, changing the signal routing, and adjusting other functions to the simple push of one button. All you need to do is to connect BRAVIA Theatre Sync capable products to each other via one HDMI cable. The rest is easy. For instance, the One Push Play function activates by touching the play button on the remote and BRAVIA Theatre Sync takes over from there. The BRAVIA Home Theatre System and TV turn on. The DVD input on the BRAVIA Theatre system and TV activates. The TV mutes. And finally the DVD plays. There are two other BRAVIA Theatre Sync functions - One-Push Theatre Settings, which provides optimal picture and sound settings for movies and One-Push System Shut Down for turning off the entire home entertainment system. BRAVIA Internet Video Link The first DMex product to be introduced to the market is the DMX-NV1 BRAVIA Internet Video Link module (sold separately). BIVL, as it is affectionately called, can stream available Internet video from select content providers directly to your TV with a broadband connection3 without the need for a PC. S-Force Front Surround S-Force Front Surround is a virtual surround sound experience made possible using just two front speakers in select BRAVIA models. To accomplish this, Sony spent several years studying how our ears work. By understanding exactly how we recognize the origin, direction, volume and timing differences in sound right and left ear, Sony was able to create complex audio processing that delivers dynamic virtual surround sound without the need to bounce sound off walls and back to the listener. HDMI and PC Connectivity Designed for maximum versatility, Sony’s BRAVIA S-Series Digital LCD TV line is equipped with a comprehensive range of input interfaces. The HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the first industry-supported, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface. HDMI technology supports enhanced or High Definition video, together with multi-channel digital audio to provide matchless image and sound reproduction. The HDMI and PC inputs (HD-15-pin) offer easy connection to your PC, allowing you to use your high resolution BRAVIA S-Series Digital TV as a computer monitor. Light Sensor-2 Intelligently adjusts the screen brightness to match the ambient light in a room, ensuring a comfortable viewing experience. In a dim room for example the screen automatically reduces brightness making it much more comfortable for viewing. Freeze Function Sony’s Freeze Function is a useful function that allows you to temporarily freeze the picture in a separate screen while the programming continues to display. This comes in handy when you want to copy a recipe, phone number, etc. that flashes too quickly across your screen. Simply touch the "Freeze" button on the remote control and copy the details down at your convenience.

Witkowski I have had my Sony KDL-40S3000 set up for about a week now and could not be happier! Amazon.com had by far the best price around considering that you get free shipping and pay no tax, and trust me I surfed every online site and retail store for over a month before making my purchase. I was about to go plasma with Samsung, until I saw it in store and hated the reflective black display and case as well as reading several poor customer reviews. This Sony set has a sexy matte black finish and the screen is clear and reflection free in any lighting! Sony TV's in my book are across the board the best blend of top technology, proven durability and quality as well as sleek cool looks. My family has always owned Sony TV's and have never had even one of them serviced, some still running are over 20 years old! But back to my new KDL-40S3000..... It's a sure crowd pleaser in any home! As of now, there are no HD broadcast channels in the 1080p format, only 1080i which this TV with the native resolution of 720p displays vividly, so I would advise you to think about this if you are looking at some of Sony's 1080p models that cost a lot more. Along with the fact that because the majority of broadcast channels besides HD channels (1080i) on Digital cable and I believe even Satellite are still in the 480p format, a TV such as this one with 720p resolution will display a cleaner and sharper image than that of a 1080p model. Bottom line... unless you have a Blu-Ray or HD DVD player and want a barely noticeable sharper picture, Go With 720p, you will save money and not be sacrificing anything trust me! As for features and sound quality, you will be overwhelmed with what Sony brings to the plate. The menu options and settings are extensive but yet fun with Sony's graphical onscreen display, but the picture right of the box is just as impressive. I am a big fan of surround sound systems, but so far I am completely satisfied with the KDL-40S3000's clear and projecting sound quality, and I seriously question the poor remarks from other reviews about this set being deficient in sound. The audio/video inputs and outputs of this set are numerous and the 2 HDMI hook-ups will meet the needs of most home users considering there are also 2 component connections and various other lower quality connections. So in closing I would recommend the Sony KDL-40S3000 to any and everyone looking to get into the flat-panel market, hands-down!!! Yes, Sony may be a bit more money than comparable sized other brands, but you are paying for top notch quality, engineering, and styling and you will not regret a cent of it! Set your price range, determine the right size and viewing distance for your room and put Sony at the top of your list when shopping Amazon.com for the best price on your flat-panel TV! Good luck and I hope my review has helped. I know a flat-panel is a major purchase and it's worth the time and effort to write a review if you are truly impressed and satisfied to pass on a great experience to others! 55 of 57 people found the following review helpful. Great so far.... By T. Das Have had this set for 4 days now, and am very satisfied. Pros - Great picture quality. Spend hours researching and comparing sets in the store. Could not find a better 720p picture. The 10-bit panel and Live color creation system (new in the S series for 2007) render natural colors. - Xcross navigation system really a breeze to setup and modify various settings - Finish and styling is of very high quality. Dimensions very compact. I especially like the matte finish, which does not reflect anything. Cons - Only 2 HDMi inputs. Maybe be insufficient for some people. - Pretty expensive (I feel its worth it, though). For those with a smaler budget, last year's model (S2010) is worth considering for its Picture Quality. Overall, very pleased

With standard-definition TVs, the rule used to be that viewers would feel comfortable watching a set from a distance of 3 to 6 times the screen size in inches. With HDTV, the resolution is so much better that you can sit closer to a larger TV without noticing the pixels. So with HDTVs, the rule tends to be you can sit anywhere from 1.5 to 3 times the screen size (in inches) for the best experience. I have been in the market for a new TV since November of 2009. I have done a ton of research and I believe that for the money this is one of the best TVs in the market. I looked at the Samsung LEDs and while they are good TVs, I find the glossy screens are distracting with all the reflections it creates. This can definitely be troublesome if your house has big windows next to the TV like mine does. At the end, the Sony KDL-46EX700 was the perfect TV. Some of the great features include: ambient light sensor (the backlight changes depending on the amount of light source in the room), internet capabilities (Sony has a ton of widgets), exceeds energy star ratings, presence sensor (turns TV off when it does not sense a person in the room), motion flow control and finally a attractive modern clean design. As for picture quality the TV shines on all level. I have U-Verse cable and the picture looks great in HD and SD. The picture quality on DVD is great, as well as, the Netflix streaming. Blu ray quality is out of this world. As for sound quality, I am uncertain as my TV is connected to a home theater system. I really have nothing bad to say about this TV. The only knock that I have on this TV if any, is that the remote looks cheap. It does work, however, so I really can't complain. Plus I plan on replacing it with a universal remote. In the end, If you are in the market for a new LED TV I highly recommend this TV. 37 of 37 people found the following review helpful. Great picture, so-so sound - satisfied overall By Jay F. Pros Getting a matte screen was the top consideration for me, as I live in a room with intense sunlight. If you are putting the TVin a bright room, it's one of the better options I found at this price point. There is excellent color accuracy. Greens are actually natural green, not neon as they appear on other brands. Very good black levels. I think the HD content is incredible. The Motionflow setting (120hz) is great for sports, but turn it off for movies and most other content. Excellent looking TV design. The ultra thin screen is striking. The automatic ambient light adjustment is a nice feature. The internet content is decent - particularly Netflix and Amazon on Demand. Be aware that not every movie in the Netflix catalogue is downloadable, and also be aware that only some of the content for Netflix and Amazon is in HD (this will probably improve with time, though). You can hook the TV up with an ethernet cable, or go wireless with a USB adapter (though it costs another $80 to purchase from Sony). This was easy to set up. The menu is easy to navigate. I like the various screen modes for different content. There are a thousand ways to customize the picture to your liking. Unlike some of the Sony models in recent years, the stand does swivel. Very energy efficient. Cons: Contrast does diminish a bit when you are off center, but no more than other LCD's I have seen. It would be nice to have a separate Motionflow button on the remote for ease of access. The sound is thin, although you can improve it with some tweaks. If you are going to use it with a home theater, it doesn't matter. If you aren't, you might find it substandard. The Presence Sensor is a bit gimmicky - you won't care that you have this 10 minutes after you set it up. There is some noticeable judder on certain content, but I set the TV to the CineMotion Auto 2 setting in Picture Adjust - it seemed to smooth this out a lot. I can't discern much benefit from the LED edge lighting, other than the fact that it allows for the thin design. The TV isn't perfect, but overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. 120 of 153 people found the following review helpful. I am a software engineer and bought this monitor for my home office. It has a very large .309" dot pitch, which is exactly what I wanted, so text appears as large as possible at a given font size. Not sure why some people whine about large dot pitches in monitors (and at the same time buy 50"+ TVs that naturally come with humongous dot pitches). This is an awesome monitor for a programmer or anyone spending a lot of time reading text. The 1920x1200 resolution is ideal: it's more than 1080p (full HD) and doesn't need a fancy dual-link dvi graphics card. Any 32MB card can display full color at this resulotion. Unless you play 3d games, you can take full advantage of this monitor for web browsing, watching video, photo processing, presentations and so on with a $30 card. If you go to a 30" monitor, you get a very small dot pitch (text will appear smaller) and will need a much fancier graphics card. This page has an excellent visual presentation of how the font looks like at different dot pitches: behardware.com/articles/658-1/lcd-tests-the-acer-and-dell-26-and-27.html This monitor is dual input (vga and dvi/hdmi) so I've been using the VGA connection for my ubuntu linux workstation and the DVI for an apple laptop and can switch between the two from the monitor's menu buttons. Using 1920x1200 at 60hz I see no difference in quality between VGA and DVI (I was worried that VGA won't be good enough, but it is!) The monitor has built in speakers that can be driven either by HDMI (if you hookup a DVD player for instance) or via a separate audio input. The monitor also has audio out, so you can connect better speakers (the built-in ones face backwards as they are on the backside of the monitor, so they have poor projection). They are ok for casual movie watching though. Another thing I look for in a monitor is capability of low brightness. For a programmer, too-high brightness is a big problem. Many LCD monitor's are ridiculously bright and cannot go down to 100cd/m2 (at 100cd/m2, also called "print-level" a white screen is about as bright as holding a paper page in a well-lit room). Anything more than that is quite straining for the eyes, especially at night. Turning the brightness to 0, and the contrast to about 25, I get the "paper effect" with this monitor, although blacks are not as deep as I would like. It does better than most monitors, but not nearly as good as my older Sony 19" SDM-HX93 LCD which had an amazing backlight adjustment. Another feature I miss is lack of presets. My old Sony had presets so with a single button I could switch from high brightness for day-time movie watching to low brightness late-night programming. With the Hanns.G I need to go to the menus and turn down brightness and contrast (which takes about 10 key presses altogether). Not many monitors have presets though. The only 27"/28" monitor I found that does is the Samsung 275T, but it costs double the money! The monitor's stand is pretty good. It swivels left/right and can be tilted upwards (useful if you want to look at the screen while standing up). My biggest gripe about the monitor is the poor vertical viewing angle. Looking down is fine, but looking up darkens things quite a bit. I like the middle of the monitor at eye-height, but this makes the top of the screen a little darker. I would have to lower the monitor so the top edge of the screen is at eye-height to avoid this problem. There you have it. This monitor isn't quite perfect, but for the money it's a fantastic value. It's being marketed as a gaming monitor, but does a excellent job as a professional workstation monitor as well. It would also be a very good choice for anyone with poor eyesight due to the large dot pitch which makes fonts appear larger. I would definately buy it again! UPDATE: I discovered a

Hands down is one of the most beautiful displays in this size. You can buy a fancier ultra-thin 32" TV from Samsung right now but it's almost twice the price! Pros: The blacks are black! When you start it up, the Bravia logo appears on a black background and it's as black as when the TV is off! People say that edge LED lighting will make the blacks truer with less backlight bleeding but this TV is already great in this aspect. The colors and settings are very good out of the box for a few of the styles but need adjustment like any TV. The nice thing is that when you change your input, the TV remembers all the settings for that input! So it's like you never have to re-adjust your settings unless you plug your stuff in differently. The motionflow frame interpolation technology is astounding! 120HZ with the motionflow is worth every penny for bluray and other high-def sources. That's why I waited for this over the XBR6. I however prefer the lifelike "soap-opera" look, but that's me (I have to say PE or the Pirates movies look stunning with it on!). You can turn it off or have this appear more more subtle (the default). The motionflow is basically a side-effect of the necessity to combat blurriness and the staggering "judder" effect inherent to LCDs. It adds one or more frames in between each frame of your source by interpolating entirely NEW frames that were never there by the TV's processor. technology is amazing, isn't it? You have to see it in person to get exactly what this looks like. Other companies are following suit but I find others like the 32 TOC Samsung have more motion artifacts (basically errors ie grabbing parts of the audience behind a fast-moving player in a sports event and dragging them along for the ride). Sony's Bravia processor is second to none. For upconverted sources not originally in 1080 and compressed 1080 cable, the motion technology is less noticeable. So the overall effectiveness depends on how clear the material is. This is important--with the game mode on, which turns off most processing, there is almost NO LAG. I am one of those demanding gamers who is very sensitive and complains about miniscule things like how much play there is in a joystick. So I can tell you that there is still a little lag but the game mode makes fast games like Smash Bros and shooters play like my CRT. So losing the motionflow in the game mode might seem bad, but it's only a small difference especially on something like the 480p Wii. And Wii games with anti-aliasing like Metroid Prime 3 still look AWESOME in contrast to what most say. The PS3 does look AMAZING either with or without motionflow anyway! Cons: Not many but the sound is tinny. What do you expect from such small speakers? If you spent this much on a 32 TV and don't have speakers then you should not complain. There is no headphone jack. I use a mixer with a control-room out to get around this and it works fine. The autodim is annoying but mainly happens for me when the room is VERY dark. In normal light I do not see it. And you cannot turn it off but with as many people as are complaining about it, all Sony has to do is release a firmware update to allow the switching on and off of it (Sony, are you reading this?)... CLARIFICATIONS----- Here are some points that I thought were incorrect in some other reviews so I felt compelled to make this clear to potential buyers. Okay some people just don't do their research in TVs. Sony's top line of HDTVs is the XBR line. The XBRs are split into the standard and then two higher end levels. Last year we had the XBR6s (standard XBR), XBR7s (larger fancier models) and XBR8 (larger still fancier models). This XBR9 IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR XBR8!! It replaces the XBR6 and the XBR8 was WAY more money and there was not even a 32" one available! The reviewer who complained

Dawson So I bought this tv without reading a single review, because there wasn't any. I wanted specifically a 32" 120hz set because it is going to be in a small room, any bigger would have been overkill, and this fit the bill. I upgraded from a Samsung 26" 720p (LN26A330), which I had no complaints at all about, but really wanted 1080p since this is hooked up to a home theatre/gaming pc and I could use the extra resolution. I compared these tv's side by side after getting the sony, and was really surprised how much better the sony's picture was (I was using 720p on both for fair comparison, playing identical sources). Pros -Very bright picture, which is good for the day time -Blu Rays do look amazing, just adjust the settings to personal preference -True Cinema 24p mode does seem to play movies at true 24p (I set the htpc output to 24hz to accomplish this) -Motionflow works really nicely on some blu-rays, definitely not for all movies though, but I actually do prefer it over True Cinema 24p in a lot of cases -PC games look very good with motionflow turned on, especially FPS's. Motionflow makes 60fps look like 120fps and you can tell a difference in how clear and smooth everything is. -Extremely energy efficient, uses only 40w in power saving mode, ~75w normal mode (this is better in both categories than my 26" samsung, which amazed me!) Cons -Speakers on my old samsung might have been a little better, its hard to tell for sure, but its not a big difference. -Very minor, I wish a single button could turn motionflow on and off instead of navigating menus Overall, I am really happy with this set. If you like 24p true cinema and/or motionflow and are willing to pay a little extra, I'd recommend it. If your not that concerned with those features, I would probably get a less expensive 60hz set, but I am glad I got this one. btw, make sure you don't don't turn Cinemotion to auto1 if Motionflow is already on. It gives movies a really strange effect, like your hallucinating or something. 41 of 45 people found the following review helpful. Sony BRAVIA EX 500 Series 32-Inch LCD TV, Black, My first LCD TV By Dennis B. Cutter Well I've had my new TV for about a month now and it works as advertised. Excellent picture and vary fast refresh rate so no smearing during high rates of picture movement. I've played with most of the settings and right this moment I'm just using the standard display. I have used the 15 pin D connection to display HULU from my laptop and it works very well. I've also played with the sound settings and after using steady sound and clear voice went back to just standard settings. Music is very negatively impacted by using these setting to the point that movies especially have a very flat sound to them making it feel like your watching a pre-relase take before the music background was added. One thing that most people not having had a wide screen TV before should be aware of that without getting the HD feed you are losing a good portion of the reason for getting a TV of this type. I was using normal cable connection with just a standard feed and the TV display looked like crap most of the time. There were a few stations that came in Ok like the PBS type who mostly displayed HD as a normal course of programming but most of the channels you had to make up your mind if you wanted to watch bloated people or use other settings that either cut part of the picture out or use a standard setting that gave you a small 4:3 screen. While this might seem like a very basic problem to people who have had HDTV's for a long time this was my first one I've had and the results were not good. I solved this issue by going to Direct TV and getting their HD and DVR package. A world of difference. I was able to crank the display up to it's full 1080p with outstanding results. I've been with

Adjustment on the stands are limited to tilt. Image quality, sharpness, and contrast are generally good, except for color temperature: the monitor generally appears very "cool", probably due to the LED backlighting. However, it's tolerable even for movies and games. The LED lighting allows for high dynamic range display, which looks impressive next to other monitors. Keep in mind that the high contrast only works for larger regions; text and fine graphics render as they do on a regular display. Still, it's a nice effect for games and movies. The LED lighting also makes the monitor more energy efficient (it stays noticeable cooler than other monitors). Altogether, it's a cheap, nice-looking, lightweight monitor. 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Excellent Multi-Purpose Monitor By P. McCauley Since purchasing this monitor it has been fantastic and really is a pleasure to use. - The LED screen is amazing, and the colours are so rich, and the blacks are actually black. Makes my other screen's blacks look like gray in comparison. I was also impressed that it uses a lot less power than normal LCD monitors, which should save me money in the long term as I use this a lot. and the 23" for me is the ideal size, as any bigger I think is too big. - 1920x1080 resolution. This is huge and makes everything seem so crisp, and watching HD or blu ray films in this is really nice. - Stand/Standless feature. This is one of the main reasons I bought this. I have this sitting beside my laptop as a dual monitor, and it doesnt sit way high like normal monitors, and the bottom is on the same level as my laptop's screen which makes using this a LOT easier. It is also very stable without the stand as the whole base is aiding its stability. Taking off and putting on the stand is so easy and take 2 seconds. - HDMI, DVI-D, VGA, Headphone. Plenty of connection options, but HDMI is what you want, as means you get a better picture and sound quality. And also will be used for any new or future equipment. - Buttons. These are all touch sensitive which makes the design more sleek. Sometimes the on/off button needs to be pressed the exact position, but usually I just hold my thumb on it and it will go on okay. Just needs you some practice to understand it better. Overall an amazing buy, and worth the bit extra for LED screen, 23" size, and HDMI. I have used this for graphics work, web browsing, and gaming. All an even more enjoyable experience than noramlly. Gotta buy this everyone!!! 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. A pretty good monitor for the price, with a couple annoyances By Ryan I bought this monitor so I could work from home and play a few games, as well. I haven't tried movies on it. Something about the picture quality is, in some undefinable way, not quite as nice as the Samsung monitors I have at work, but it's still pretty solid and far better than using the built-in screen on my laptop. My main negative observation is that the image doesn't look that great when I use a regular VGA cable. I found an LCD calibration test on the web (google for the "lagom" one) and just couldn't get the color/picture/gamma/brightness adjusted right. This isn't likely to bother people with modern computers/video cards, but it's something to keep in mind. With an HDMI cable, I had to wrestle with Windows and my Vaio's controls for a while to get the correct resolution to work, but once I did, everything looked solid. The picture passed the above calibration test no problem, after a few minor adjustments. I do wish I could boost the brightness a tiny bit more, but that's not much of an issue. As for the monitor's physical design, it's very lightweight and low heat. The stand is a bit flimsy, but adequate for my needs. In short, if you want a super awesome LED monitor,

Craw I got my 60ex700 yesterday and I am really happy with it. It is a great TV. There was a little flashlighting and uniformity is not perfect but it seems you can tune it quite a bit. There are an amazing amount of settings and I have it set to be more than acceptable for me. Great price on a great TV. Contrast is great with deep blacks and white whites. The motionflow is great also. Furthermore, the sound is acceptable for normal viewing and much better than I expected due to all the people dissing it. I have a nice theater 5.1 setup but I don't want to use that for everything and the sony sound is just fine. Netflix and internet stuff is great, the remote is fine. This technology is getting so good we are really picking nits at this point. I just hope it is engineered to be reliable and long lasting because I intend on having this in my living room for the next 6-10 years. I am sure you can spend a lot more and buy a better TV with better picture quality but for this price... killer TV. The only downside is the TV is so damn thin and light that I feel nervous holding the bezel when I have to put in the inputs. It is solidly built but it just looks so fragile. 31 of 31 people found the following review helpful. Great TV and Picture with Some Rough Edges By A Thoughtful Consumer I've had this giant Sony for about a week and for the most part am quite pleased with it. The picture is super sharp with astonishing color. For a 60" screen, it's very light weight and really thin. The setup and picture preferences are really easy to use and to find. There's lots of hdmi connections on the back so you can get rid of all your composite and S cables, use hdmi cables and make all your components look the greatest they can be. I replaced a 60" DLP tv with this so for me there is a huge drop in temperature in my TV room..this LED runs with no heat-love it.There are some really neat features, 1 is a 'presence' monitor. If you don't come back soon enough to the TV, it knows it and will shut the picture off but leave the sound on. A nice feature with internet radio. I like the internet network possibilities. Pandora and Slacker and Utube are available to me from the TV and it's remote control-nice. BUT take notice, to make the internet happen on the Sony you need either to hook up an ethernet cable from the back of your router to the back of the TV OR you need to buy, extra, the Wireless LAN Adapter and already have a wireless access point as part of your computer system. The picture is wonderful and I'm keeping it but there are some rough edges that bother me. The onboard sound is adequate at best. There is just no room for decent speakers on such a skinny tv. Fortunately, to hook up a surround sound system to the TV is really easy. Sony also make 5.1 sound system that is wireless that is pretty good. While, I like the internet possibilities, and particularly, being able to access Netflex for direct movie downloads, I was disappointed with Netflex and Amazon VOD services. I have a medium speed DSL and you cannot cache a video download..you have to stream it. So my DSL couldn't keep up with the movie stream-constantly stopping and waiting for information to download. In the case of Netflex, they scan your system and check the speed and then only send the information that can be process by your system. That was a crappy picture. I can of course upgrade my DSL speed but for the addition $10-$15 a month, that sort of defeats the purpose of downloads. It's cheaper to stay with 'snail-mail' movies. Plus the downloaded sound was not surround sound and rather poor. Also I found the selection of available movies and programs to be a rather slim selection and that was disappointing. This is not a fault of the TV,connecting to the internet was very easy. But ,for me, the HD video services are not prime

It only takes up a small amount of space and it only weighs about 10 pounds. Set up was very easy. The set up instructions were clearly written in the owner's manual. The owner's manual itself is well written. The picture quality is excellent. The sound quality is good. It is about what you would expect from a 19" LCD television. For the price of this LCD television, I have no complaints about the sound quality. The remote control is nicely made and it is easy to use. It uses AAA batteries (included). Overall, I highly recommend this LCD television. 22 of 23 people found the following review helpful. Great product By Doug I ordered this TV for my home office. This is the best TV for the money I have seen. Sharp AQUOS LC32LE700UN 32-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED HDTV
With the introduction of the LC32LE700UN, Sharp combines its legendary AQUOS LCD panel technology with a newly developed, proprietary Full Array LED backlight system to create picture quality that is second to none. The LC32LE700UN illustrates Sharp's LCD technology leadership while also demonstrating its LED engineering advantages. Sharp's Ultra Brilliant LED system illuminates the TV to extremely high brightness and contrast levels and enables significant environmental benefits such as longer life expectancy, no heavy metals and lower power consumption. At the same time, the new XGen LCD Panel utilizes an ingeniously devised pixel design that permits more light to pass through even while minimizing light leakage, with the result being the deepest black levels that AQUOS has ever achieved. Overall, the LC32LE700UN shows that with Sharp, it's not just LED… it's AQUOS LED.

The picture is outstanding and the Home Theater Store in Houston not only came up with an outstanding price but excellent service. Try to buy from this store. They are the best. Yes, the tuner is a little slow but 99% of us are going to use this set with HDMI sources like a HD cable or Satellite box - right? No flaws in the display but you have to open the little door on the remote and find the A/V mode that suits your environment. This set has a huge number of "knobs to turn" as far as setting up the picture so be careful and find the mode and settings that you need. Once you get it set - it will blow you away. Yes, the sound isn't what you got out of the 250# "console" TV that you just replaced. It has small speakers because it's a flat panel TV. They are all that way. So stop complaining and go buy yourself a little 5.1 channel sound system that has an optical input. Hook it to the optical output of this set and the Cable or Sat box (see below) and it will be the best show you have ever heard or seen. Better yet, go buy yourself one that has a DVD upconvert or Blue Ray DVD player in it. The LG LHT854 on Amazon is a good example (for less than $200). Buy your optical and HDMI cables here on Amazon too and save a lot of $$. All the hype you read about certain cables being better is wrong. They don't need to be gold or start with "M". Speaker cables don't need to be big, fat and hard to work with. Unless you are running 2000 watts or more, 18 or 16 gauge wire is just fine. It's all digital data so there is no way the optical or HDMA cable can effect the quality of the sound or video. Be sure to connect your optical sound cable from your cable or Sat box directly to your sound system so you don't pick up a delay from the TV processing it. IF your sound system has only one optical input, buy an optical splitter/combiner on Amazon for a couple of dollars and combine the optical sources from the TV and cable or Sat box. This all works. Sharp has taken the most appropriate road on LED backlighting in my view, simply replace the florescent system with proven technology that was developed for the laptop industry by leaders like Apple. It's very bright and even. Since writing the above review, I have become even more sold on this product. Sharp has a fairly small market share in this field so they try hard to support their users. They offer a program called Aquos Advantage. It includes 3 mo.of warranty extension and a newsletter with info on using their products. It also includes a REAL help line you can call to get help if you don't understand something or can't make a feature work. If you are new to HDTV this may be of value to you. They also have a Facebook page and are very responsive through that site. The bigger manufactures may have these contacts as well but Sharps people seem to care about each customer. The other thing I have noticed is the quality of the graphics engine. I connected my 3 year old standard def (480P) DVD player to the set using the "component" connection and the picture is as good or better than from an HDMI-connected Up-convert player. This indicates that the graphics engine in this set is outstanding. When you get yours, open the little door on the bottom of the remote control and check out the different preset video modes. You will find them very helpful as you try different sources or types of material. 124 of 128 people found the following review helpful. Trend setter? LC32LE700UN LED Full-array TV By G. Perry I've been on Amazon for years and seldom write reviews. However, I spent about 30 minutes watching and generally checking this set out at a local dealer, about a week ago. The image you see here is misleading. Misleading in that the set itself is surprising more beautiful than this image shows. And there is a blue light V-shaped symbol in the center of the bottom horizontal

If you know the size of the room you have already, where you want to sit, and where your new HDTV should go once you get it, you can figure out the size HDTV you should get. Minimum size = Viewing distance/3 Maximum size=Viewing distance/1.5

You must have a good clean HD signal to fully appreciate this TV. I have an RCA amplified HD antenna (rabbit ears) and the World Cup 2010 games are superb. I leave the settings on SPORTS mode and play with the brightness and color settings depending on the content. The NET TV feature is nice. It requires an internet connection through WIFI (wireless) or ethernet (wire). VUDU is great for instantly renting movies and the quality is excellent. The other content needs better programming in the future. PROS: Great dynamic picture, Low power consumption (1.3 AMPS), Aesthetically pleasing beautiful design, only 2 inches thick, great menus, good remote control unit, low price. CONS: NO ANALOG AUDIO OUTPUT JACK. 15 of 17 people found the following review helpful. Good Tv For the Price By JH I have had this Toshiba for a few weeks now. I must say the picture quality is good. I still haven't played with the plenty of adjustment you can do with this TV. Pros:Great bang for the buck compared with the edge-lit Samsung's. Lots of adjustments and inputs even turning off the annoying Toshiba that lights up. Internet connected, Thin led back lit Blu-ray movies and Hi def gaming looks great. The numerous widgets the TV offers and the included WiFi dongle Cons:Messing with all the adjustments. The WiFi dongle sticks out like a sore thumb on the side of the TV No NETFLIX streaming hopefully it will be available in the future. It would be great if internet connected TV's would use a QWERTY keyboard 9 of 10 people found the following review helpful. BE SURE YOUR DEALER WILL TAKE RETURNS BEFORE BUYING! By d0740 As of this review, I have had this TV for 5 days. This is the third TV in a row that I have purchased from Toshiba. It replaces a Toshiba 40RF350U, which was great for about 3 years until it developed the same problem, vertical color lines on the left side of the screen, that numerous other purchasers have reported for that model. The 40UX600U has great specs and promises much. It may deliver for you, but it has not for me! I am very disappointed with the picture, especially comparing it to my previous one, which had fewer bells and whistles. Although the picture is fairly good, it does not have the fine, HD detail. (I have satellite HD programming.) The picture seems somewhat out of focus, which none of my adjustments have improved. Other concerns with this set is that the power went off by itself even though the Power Off setting is not activated; also, although I previously had only noticed motion blur on one occasion, today I began getting MAJOR motion blur even though the stabilization setting is On and the TV is set for 120Hz. It was so detracting that I finally changed channels. I have had additional incidents of the motion blur. Unfortunately, the dealer from whom I purchased this TV will not accept returns on TV's, so I'm in the position of having to deal with Toshiba directly. I might be stuck with what I consider a lemon. The bottom line is that you might purchase this TV and be quite satisfied with it, as I have with my previous Toshiba sets; but for your protection you should make sure that your dealer will accept the TV back in case you have problems with it.
