The screen is very bright and vibrant colors (and it seems certain), the contrast is huge. No configuration is required with Windows 7, just connect to the PC port and you're ready to go. The screen has a non-reflective surface, matte, so it works well in a bright room. There are a number of customization options few (accessible through the familiar interface button on the front panel), but felt the need to further adjust the brightness and contrast usual. * The price is significantly lower than its competitors * and performs as well as more expensive monitors I had in the past. The Asus VH198T by Marshall Carter is easily one of the best LCD monitors available in its price range The image is vibrant and alive, supported by the LED backlight of this model. For years, LCD suffered very poor contrast ratio that make the blacks look more gray, and while the contrast to 10 million (I assume that the "dynamic contrast") is at best debatable, the fact is that the contrast is very , much better than the LCD screen even just one or two years ago. The screen is bright, the colors are bright, blacks are deep and everything is great (OK when run with the resolution, nothing less than the native 1440x900 will result in a blurred image, although it is typical of any LCD). The image is simply the best I've seen on all models of the same price. I work in IT procurement and we had been buying HP LCD, but I swung Asus based on the reputation they have earned through their components and netbooks, and I am very happy that I did. I have almost 200 of these are used in different places, and I have a burnt or stuck pixels I know this experience is probably just luck, but some LCDs have been more likely to have on them. I think it's safe to say that VH198T not one of them. If there's anything to complain about (you know, because of the complaints, the full disclosure and all that), I will point to the speakers. Most people would much rather use separate speakers or headphones with your PC, but if you plan to use the two 1-watt speakers built VH198T, you're probably going to want to upgrade to use. They are ok to listen to voicemails or maybe some streaming Talk Radio, but badly lacking for music and games. Also, as already mentioned, the label on the underside of the residue on the LCD bezel, and it is very difficult to drive. This is the end of my complaints. By GR Most people do not build from ASUS motherboards monitors - which can cause people to be skeptical about this product. I bought this monitor to replace 19in Samsung monitor my children and I must say I'm satisfied with your purchase. Windows 7 works well on his machine. The big advantage that this monitor is DVI, which can be difficult to find in this price range displays. The colors and the lights are bright / sharp and can easily be adapted to your personal preferences. It does not 'cause a lot of heat. The screen tilts up or down but can not move sideways, unless you buy a second support / monitor stand. I had no problems, then this screen comes to my children. It comes with power, VGA and audio cables. It has not been reviewed by the speakers on the monitor as my children use the external speakers that are already all 91 reviews ....
